Tip: Ride straight

QuickTipsfeature1-300x92Ever find yourself on a ride and you need to look behind yourself only to find that you have swerved near the center of the road? When looking over your left shoulder drop your right elbow. This provides just enough counter steer to keep your front wheel tracking straight.

  1. Another tip, that I picked up from my clubmates, is to put the arm you’re going to look over on your waist, then look over your elbow. It gives you counterweight as well as your arm acts as a line to look over.

  2. I think this would be great on a club or training ride but in a race I would not suggest removing hands from the bars.
