Tip: Work the junk out of your neck

QuickTipsfeature1-300x92Find yourself wincing at the idea of a long ride again? If you find your neck sore or stiff at the end of a ride or worse yet during a ride try these tips. When you are third or better of the way through your long ride roll your shoulder every 1o 15 minutes. To roll your shoulders all you have to do while riding is pull your shoulders up and hold for a count of 10 seconds an release. After a long ride I also like to roll my head around. This means that I will rotate my head around clockwise 10 times and counter clockwise 10 times. If you still find your neck stiff after a long ride try an ice pack for 15-20 minutes. If you still find yourself stiff then its time to try myofacial release. Get a dense foam tube and lay your neck across the tube and turn your head left to right 10-15 times. You will find trigger points doing this!

  1. Good solid advice! I agree and do most of this and it helps. That and my chiropractor.

  2. The use of the foam tube and Myofacial Release have done wonders for my neck.
